Myelitis

Myelitis involves the inflammation of the grey and white matter of spinal cord, part of central nervous system. Myelitis is caused due to the direct infection by bacteria, virus, parasites such as Human immunodeficiency virus, syphilis, Tuberculosis which leads to the bacterial myelitis, viral myelitis, parasite myelitis, fungal myelitis. Diagnosis involves neurological examinations and imaging using MRI with the advanced treatments and therapy. It is estimated about 1400 new cases of myelitis are diagnosed each year in United states.
